Evernorth Health Services

As part of a larger branding effort for Cigna’s new health services division, Evernorth, I was brought on to establish an illustration style for the evolving product, and support illustration needs across the Cigna family.

Illustration Guidelines

I worked with the client team to create a set of principles and standards that other designers could follow to generate additional assets, in three distinct stylings for each of their brand families

Visual Scale

Anticipating that illustration would serve multiple purposes both in mobile and web apps, we set a standard for multiple kinds of imagery.

Emotive Scale

In this example of a health assessment, a practical approach instructs the user, while more emotional, human-centered imagery can help encourage and reward.

An Illustration Library

In an effort to get ahead of illustration needs for product and marketing, a library was created of approximately 150 illustrations, as well as additional collections of mini illustrations. Each image is available in the Base Kit version, as well as each of the stylings, to accommodate the brands’ evolving needs.
